Oil filled transformers' PCB Policy and Procedures
If a transformer does not have a NON-PCB certification Brandon & Clark will test for PCB's. If a transformer tests at 50ppm or greater the customer is notified. For PCB or PCB-contaminated transformers we either dispose of the transformer with or without oil, or retrofill with new NON-PCB oil. All PCB contaminated transformers and/or oil are disposed of through an EPA approved facility. Retrofill may be done allowing the customer to energize the unit for 90 days and then test for PCB content or B&C will enrgize the unit in house and retest after 90 days. |
